Side Piece Coffee

We visited Side Piece Coffee yesterday morning, and it’s quickly become one of our favourite spots in Varsity Lakes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for dining in or grabbing a takeaway too. We ordered the smashed avo and a deli-style salad toastie (Big Sandwich), both of which were fresh, packed with flavour, and generously portioned—an excellent choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Their coffee, made with freshly roasted beans, was easily some of the best we’ve had on the Gold Coast. The price is reasonable, and you get great value for what you pay—definitely among the best options for those looking for quality at the lowest price possible. If you’re a dog owner, you’ll be happy to know this place is pet-friendly, making it ideal for morning catch-ups or casual walk over Lake Orr. Highly recommend Side Peace Coffee for its great food, friendly service, and relaxed vibe.

Despite the wild weather from the passing cyclone, this café was a welcoming haven when many other places had shut their doors. Their kindness in staying open was truly appreciated! I enjoyed a beautifully crafted coffee, rich and smooth, while my child sipped on a fresh juice that was just as delightful. The interior is stylish and thoughtfully designed, creating a cozy yet modern atmosphere. Plus, the view is fantastic—definitely a spot worth revisiting when the weather clears. Looking forward to coming back on a sunnier day. Thank you!

Side piece is by far and away the best coffee shop I've ever been to. The drinks are absolutely incredible. The mocha and summer smoothie are real standouts. The food is just as good, the nduja chilli scrambled eggs, ham + cheese toastie, and the chicken salad sandwhich are amazing. The portion sizes are also so big! The eggs your way is also a really cool concept, allowing you to customise your order however you want. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality and the atmosphere is always buzzing with how busy it is. The staff are also so friendly and helpful which makes this spot one of the best!

The chilli eggs are fantastic (better with toast than the croissant but… thats just my personal preference), coffee is also good

I stumbled across this little gem, hidden on a side street in Varsity Lakes. Staff were really friendly, great coffee & food. Great space & atmosphere. Parking was a bit tricky though staff informed me they were moving across the road when a new centre is finished being built. One of the few cafes open on a weekend in Varsity Lakes & with extended opening hours. Must try!

Dog friendly cafe. Despite being next to construction, the decoration and vibe created was very sleek and modern. Definitely the highlight. The presentation of the chilli eggs was lovely however was a bit bland.

What a nice find in Varsity Lakes! The coffee was comforting, paired perfectly with the rainy day. I had the Kimcheese Toastie which I can't believe how good it was, what a perfect idea. Bf had the Reuben sandwich which he was pretty satisfied with. Definitely recommend trying the toastie
